My budget is preferably under $250, but if something really blows my mind I might spend a bit more. I'm looking to make very orchestral sounds, and spacey, haunting swells. Also, looking at the Dwarfcraft Thumping Double Squaresnakes, but it's a tough choice. I have an eye on the EQD Bit Commander, it looks very promising. My question is, what's a good alternative? I've looked into the POG2, but I had a MicroPOG and was not impressed at all, also, I just haven't had very good experiences with EHX pedals (lots of added noise, I've had multiple EHX pedals die on me for no good reason, some other weird issues I've never had with other companies, etc). I don't know if the pedal hasn't aged well, or if I'm just noticing more of its flaws recently. The tracking is terrible, it cuts notes short all the time, removes any semblance of sustain, and forget trying to play multiple notes at once, it just sounds like loud, muddy nonsense. I have to turn my volume pedal almost all the way down, or turn the volume knob on my guitar to 2 or 3, otherwise it's just an awful racket. I've had a MicroSynth for a while now, and at times I've loved it, but lately, every time I switch it on, it adds so much gain and noise it's crazy. ![]()
